Scottie Scheffler has to watch Si Woo Kim go seriously low on day two of the CJ CUP Byron Nelson.

Scheffler was slow out of the blocks on Friday at TPC Craig Ranch, parring his first four holes, but he soon caught fire and ended up shooting a 63.

However, that wasn’t enough to keep pace with the electric Si Woo Kim, who ended up making a bogey on the 18th to shoot a round of 60.

However, the world number one ensured that he kept himself in the tournament at least, by playing his final 14 holes in eight-under par.

Scheffler and Si Woo Kim had great fun on the course on Friday at the CJ CUP, but Saturday is when the serious stuff will really start.

Scheffler responded when asked what he believed was his strongest asset out on the golf course during his second round.

Probably my mind, he said.

I feel like, when you’re watching somebody like Si Woo, especially when you’re paired with him, just watching somebody birdie every hole and you feel like the tournament is getting further and further away from you, I think I did a good job of staying patient and not forcing things.

I told Teddy when we were walking down 10, I’m like, Dude, I feel like it I hit it to 20 feet on every hole and I’m just not making anything. Sure enough, got a roll in there with birdie on 11 and rolled a long one in on 12.

Nice to see the ball go in there and gave me some good momentum for the rest of the day.

It must have been tough for Scheffler to watch Si Woo Kim make the game look so easy, especially during the first few holes of his second round when the American was struggling to get under par.

However, he maintained his patience and was rewarded with an impressive round of 63 in the end. That is a great lesson for all young golfers with aspirations of turning pro.

It’s just always fun to play with him, Si Woo said.

We have a joke with each other and a little bit of trash talk.

Yeah, I always love to play with him and I always learn a lot from him every time during a practice round or a tournament day.

So, yeah, it is always great to be paired with him.

Unfortunately, the pair just missed out on being grouped together for Saturday’s third round at TPC Craig Ranch.

However, it would be no surprise at all to see Scottie Scheffler and Si Woo Kim paired together for the final round of the CJ CUP Byron Nelson on Sunday.
