Some Dallas Cowboys fans are balking at the cost of acquiring wide receiver Jonathan Mingo from the Carolina Panthers at the 2024 trade deadline.
The Cowboys sent a 2025 fourth-rounder to the Panthers on Tuesday in exchange for Mingo and a 2025 seventh-rounder, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Mingo has made 12 catches for 121 yards in nine games for the Panthers so far this season.
The Kansas City Chiefs recently made a trade with the Tennessee Titans that involved sending a fifth-round pick, which could become a fourth-rounder, for former Pro Bowl wideout DeAndre Hopkins.
The trade also comes after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Tuesday that quarterback Dek Prescott is likely headed to the injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
The Cowboys fell to 3-5 on the season with Sunday’s Week 9 road loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Mingo could make his Dallas debut against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
