The NASCAR All-Star Race opened with a nine-car crash on Lap 2, involving three former NASCAR Cup champions — 2025 Cup champion Kyle Larson, 2023 champion Ryan Blaney, and 2020 champion Chase Elliott.
A total of nine cars were involved in the crash, started by Ryan Preece.

The collision started off Turn 4 in three-wide racing when Preece came down from the top of the track and clipped Todd Gilliland,, who then got into Larson.

Preece hit the wall hard, and his RFK No. 60 Ford caught fire, ending his day. Preece, who was treated and released in the infield care center, admitted on FS1, the wreck was probably his fault. “If it was my fault, I’m sorry,” he said.
The crash may have taken out Blaney too. His crew is attempting to fix his No. 12 Ford for the final stage. Larson’s team is also working on his car. Both can re-enter the race for the last segment as they are locked in as past champions.
Along with Preece, Larson, Blaney, Elliott and Gilliand the cars involved included Daniel Suarez, Cole Custer, John Hunter Nemechek and Michael McDowell.
