Admittedly, the experience of watching NFL football at home has improved to nearly the point of perfection. With amazing production value, the ability to watch games in the comfort of your own couch—where food is cheap(ish) and bathrooms are comfortable—and it’s all relatively free, many football fans have understandably made the decision to stay at home on Sundays.
But let’s live in a hypothetical world for now. The Detroit Lions’ 2026 schedule is out, and while ticket prices are ridiculous right now for a lot of consumers, let’s pretend price is not a factor. Going to a game can sometimes create a core memory for fans. I’ll never forget being at the Lions’ Wild Card win over the Los Angeles Rams or their huge road victory over the Oakland Raiders back in 2011.

So today’s Question of the Day is:
Assuming price is no factor, which Lions game on the 2026 schedule would you want to attend the most?
My answer: The Germany game is first and foremost on the list. I do plan on going to this game and have already made travel accommodations. Admittedly, it has less to do with the actual game—although Lions vs. Patriots is a shockingly good matchup for Europe—but expanding my worldly travel is something that is important to me at this time in my life. Experiencing different cultures and meeting different people seems more important than ever in what seems like a growingly xenophobic and hateful world.
Aside of that, it’ll be cool to see just how much of an imprint the NFL has made internationally. Is this sport truly growing? Are there a lot of Lions fans in Germany with the explosion of Amon-Ra St. Brown’s popularity? It’ll be cool to witness that first-hand with boots on the ground.

If there was one other game I’d love to see in person, it’s Week 2 against the Bills in Buffalo’s stadium. That was already a really cool environment with very passionate fans, but with the christening of a new venue and a primetime spotlight, that’s bound to be a really neat game to attend.
