Despite the initial excitement surrounding his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, the feeling within the board is that the coach lost control of a dressing room filled with strong egos.

It is suggested that Alonso lacked the full authority to make key decisions, as the club hierarchy often sided with the players during internal disputes.
This lack of institutional backing eventually made his position untenable, leading to his exit after a Spanish Super Cup defeat to Barcelona.
Despite the sour end to his first stint, Alonso still holds deep affection for Real Madrid. The reports suggest that once the Florentino Perez era concludes and the squad undergoes a significant overhaul, Alonso would be delighted to return.
He remains eager to leave a positive legacy at the Bernabeu. But in the meantime, Alonso is courted by Liverpool, who have reportedly reached out to Real Madrid to ask information about the Spanish manager, who has been touted as a replacement for Arne Slot.
