Graeme McDowell joined LIV Golf from the PGA Tour way back in June 2022.
However, McDowell is still waiting for his first LIV Golf victory.
The man from Northern Ireland achieved plenty of success during his time in the game, with a US Open win to his name as well as four Ryder Cup appearances under his belt.

However, with the future of LIV Golf completely up in the air right now, the 2010 US Open champion faces the prospect of having to find a new place to play from 2027 onwards.
With LIV Golf set to lose their financial support from Saudi Arabia’s PIF, nobody knows if the league will still be in operation next year.
So could McDowell make a return to the PGA Tour? Or more importantly, does he actually want to?

McDowell doesn’t actually know what the future holds for LIV Golf, just like everyone else.

When speaking to Beyond the Clubhouse, the 46-year-old was asked whether he would actually be open to returning to the PGA Tour, if LIV does indeed cease to exist at anytime in the near future.
“Yeah, unknown,“ McDowell admitted.
“I haven’t really given that a ton of thought. I still have some status back on the European Tour.
“The PGA Tour, clearly, I don’t really have much status there at all, if any. You know, as a past champion, I think that’s a very, very low category.

“I still have many great relationships back on both tours. I think that you go back and you lean on those relationships and you hope that the way you conducted yourself most of your career will stand by you when the time comes. If the time comes. But we’ll see.

“You know, like, there is no point speculating about what if, what’s gonna happen.
“All I can do right now for the next few months is just try and play hard, try and focus on what I’m doing, and trust the guys in the boardroom.
“You know, we got some smart people trying to figure this all out.“

McDowell responded when asked what the lines of communication from the LIV leadership have been like since it was announced that PIF would no longer be funding the league.
“It’s been good since Mexico City, the lines of communication have been wide open,“ the Northern Irishman claimed.

“We’re all gonna sit down again tonight and have a chat, as a player group, and the executives. The transparency level, I think they’ve done a really, really good job with it, you know.
“Obviously, there are questions that they don’t know the answers to, and speculation, and, you know, narratives that are maybe incorrect or not good for anyone, you know?
“So, I think it’s important to give the players the knowledge, give the players the ability to feel like they have an ownership of what they’re doing out here, and to try and trust in it.
“We’ll see, you know. I do think there are some great things that we do on LIV, you know, especially outside of America.

“You know, taking world-class players to countries that maybe don’t get a chance to see world-class players and creating amazing golf all over the planet.
“But clearly, we’re in a little bit of a restructure mode, as a lot of businesses go through, and we can maybe come out of this the other side in good shape.“
