Getting hit by a golf ball always hurts, but when the ball bounces first, it takes a little sting off. That was not the case Saturday at Trump National Doral’s Blue Monster Course in Miami, Florida, which is hosting the PGA Tour’s Cadillac Championship.
During the third round, Nick Taylor blocked his drive on the par-4 second hole way out to the right and toward the gallery. A slow-motion view of the shot from Golf Channel showed the ball falling from the sky and hitting a fan’s arm on the fly.
“That might have left a mark,” said commentator Curt Byrum on the broadcast.

It sure did. A cameraman got closer to the fan and zoomed in on his arm, which had a big red bump right above his elbow. He seemed to be just fine, though, as he smiled and pointed at the camera.
“Damn man, that was a bad one!” the fan said with a laugh.
Elite display of toughness from that gentleman, and now he has a story to tell for the rest of his life.
It was unclear if Taylor went over to talk to the fan, but he went on to make par at No. 2. As of 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday, Taylor was tied for fourth at 8 under, six shots behind solo leader Cameron Young midway through the third round.
