Cam Young posted a sizzling 64 on day one of the Cadillac Championship but interestingly, one of the questions he was asked after finishing up at the blue Monster pertained to LIV Golf’s current situation.

Young has been in sensational form this season and already has one win to his name, after he reigned supreme at The Players Championship in March.

The 28-year-old New Yorker has elevated his game to a level where he is now considered as one of the very best golfers in the world.

Cam Young has improved his iron play and putting beyond all recognition and it’s fair to say that he is now capable of winning on any given golf course.

His opening round 64 at the Cadillac Championship was sensationally good.

After his final round he spoke at length about his feelings on the golf course at Trump National Doral and his current form.

He also fielded a question regarding LIV Golf and Brooks Koepka.

Young was not playing on the PGA Tour regularly when Koepka was on the scene.

In June 2022, the five-time major champion left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf.

However, the American returned to the PGA Tour in January of this year, after announcing his decision to leave LIV in December.

Since then, LIV Golf have been on a downward spiral. Numerous players are said to be considering leaving LIV Golf, with PIF set to withdraw their financial support at the end of this season.

Young was asked what he makes of LIV Golf’s current situation, when speaking to reporters in Miami on Thursday.

The Players Championship winner made a comment on Brooks Koepka when giving his answer.

I think having Brooks back has been great, Young admitted

But honestly it’s not for me to decide really. I don’t know what any of those guys are thinking about doing.

I don’t know what’s going to happen with LIV. So I can’t really give you much of an informed opinion on that.

LIV Golf’s future is uncertain

It will be fascinating to see what happens to LIV Golf moving forward.

Regardless of whether they survive or fold, serious damage has been done to the league.

The likes of Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm will surely be very concerned about their futures.

There are no guarantees that LIV will still be here next year. Will they come knocking on the door at PGA Tour headquarters?

And if they do, will they be offered the same deal that Koepka was given? Or will they be made to earn their way back to the top table?

One thing’s for sure; Koepka made the right decision to jump ship when he did.
