No one likes to learn their car has a recall, but it’s a vital process to ensure the vehicles we drive are safe. So far this year, Hyundai has issued eight recalls for just over 1.1 million cars.
The largest recall Hyundai has issued in 2026 involved one of its most popular models, the Palisade. In January, the automaker had to recall over 568,000 previous-generation SUVs for side curtain airbags that may improperly deploy.
Hyundai has also recalled the new Palisade for dangerous rear power seats that killed a child. The automaker went so far as to issue a stop-sale on the model while it developed a remedy for the issue.
Hyundai’s smallest recall involved just 27 electric vehicles. They had high-voltage batteries that may catch fire.
