Festival of the Lost 2024 offers one of the most sought-after cosmetic items in Destiny 2: a Lost Memento. The memento comes with an all-black shader (even better than Superblack), and one of the ways to get it is by completing a secret Twilight triumph.
You can find the triumph on the second page of the General tab inside the Episode: Revenant triumph section. Unfortunately, the objectives “???,” “?????,” and “???????” don’t really tell much and will leave you scratching your head almost as much as the Festival of the Lost weapons being pink, for some reason.
The objectives are simpler than you think, so here’s how to complete the Twilight triumph in Destiny 2 so you can get an extra Lost Memento and a shiny new emblem.
Twilight triumph guide for the Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2
Before you start working on the triumph, you must unlock the Tower Staff Mask, the Cursed Thrall Mask, and the Finalized Ghost Mask by completing event card challenges. Those can take some time, as grinding for Candy can be exhausting.
Once you have the masks, here are the Twilight triumph objectives:
- Talk to Eva, Drifter, and Saint-14 while wearing the Tower Staff Mask.
- Get 100 explosive kills while wearing the Cursed Thrall Mask.
- Get 50 sword kills in Expert Haunted Sectors while wearing the Finalized Ghost Mask.
Talk to Eva, Drifter, and Saint-14 while wearing the Tower Staff Mask
The first step is a small secret quest that you can start by talking to Eva while wearing the Tower Staff Mask. Talk to her, and she’ll start the dialogue titled The Mystery of the Missing Bags. Some of her Mystery Grab Bags have gone missing, and she hints that Drifter might be behind it.
Next, head down to the Annex where Drifter is and talk to him. Not wanting to become Eva’s next Dawning cookie, Drifter tells you he saw Exo boot prints leading out of the storage room. That Exo is Saint-14, so head to the Hangar and collect the Confiscated Grab Bag.
Get 100 explosive kills while wearing the Cursed Thrall Mask
The most fitting thing for a Cursed Thrall to do is blow stuff up, so to complete this objective, you must get explosive kills while wearing the Cursed Thrall Mask. You can get these kills anywhere in the world, so take your favorite explosive weapon and go wild.
One of the easiest ways to complete this objective is by loading into the Shuro Chi checkpoint (or any other add-dense activity) and using a Wave Frame grenade launcher. Martyr’s Retribution, Forbearance, or any other Wave Frame will do just fine.
Get 50 sword kills in Expert Haunted Sector while wearing the Finalized Ghost Mask
Expert Haunted Sectors are a great way to farm event weapons, including the new Arcane Embrace shotgun. The last Twilight objective requires you to head into one of these Expert Haunted Sectors while wearing the Finalized Ghost Mask and get sword kills.
Expert Haunted Sectors don’t have matchmaking or a dedicated category in the Fireteam Finder, but you can still load in solo and get this objective done. Of course, if you have a fireteam, you can also farm a lot of loot.
Twilight triumph rewards in Destiny 2
As a reward for completing this triumph, you get a Lost Memento to apply to crafted or enhanced weapons and a spooky Spectral Carapace emblem.
Remember that you don’t have to do this triumph to start earning Lost Mementos. They can drop from Eerie Engrams, and the drop rate is quite high, so you can easily stock up on them. Two out of five engrams I opened contained the Lost Memento, which is way higher than last year.
However, you can only hold three Lost Mementos at a time, so make sure to apply them to your favorite weapons before the event ends.
