Flag football being a part of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles is going to give a lot of NFL players the opportunity to compete in the Olympics, something that didn’t seem inevitable for the previous generation of NFL players.

For Joe Burrow, the opportunity sounds enticing for the Bengals quarterback and one of the faces of the NFL.

“I’ve always wanted to play in the Olympics,” Burrow said in a press conference at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic. “I’ve never necessarily played an Olympic sport before, so when this got announced, I was pretty excited about it.

“The opportunity to win a gold medal (is) something that I’ve thought about — a moment like that — for a long time, since I was a kid. I think it would be something very special.”

This weekend is the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, with Burrow leading Wildcats FFC along with Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan being their head coach.
