The Seattle Seahawks will have a new-look backfield in 2026 after losing Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker to the Kansas City Chiefs. John Schneider’s first move was to sign Emanuel Wilson from the Green Bay Packers on a one-year deal. Wilson has served as a backup to Aaron Jones and Josh Jacobs, and while it’s unclear what his role will be in Seattle, he’s not taken too long to endear himself to the fanbase.
Shortly after signing with Seattle, Wilson revealed that the Seahawks were his favorite team growing up in North Carolina.
Speaking with Seahawks.com, Wilson added, “I was shocked that my agent called me and told me that Seattle was going to offer me a contract. So blessed to be here.” He also said that he’s a “downhill physical runner and I have a lot of explosiveness in me.”

Evidently, Wilson’s favorite running backs were Shaun Alexander and Marshawn Lynch. Seattle’s got an illustrious history at the running back position, and we can only hope that Wilson plays a part in continuing that tradition.
Welcome to Seattle, Mr. Wilson!
