The Players Championship is once again gifting “onesies” to babies born at selected First Coast Hospitals during the week of the tournament.

This year’s version is a twist on the most famous putt in tournament history by two-time winner Tiger Woods.

Newborns who arrive in the world between March 10-15 at Baptist Health facilities will get a Players onesie with the phrase, “Cuter Than Most,” a play on the words spoken by NBC analyst Gary Koch when Woods made a 60-foot birdie putt at the 17th hole’s Island Green during the third round of the 2001 tournament.

Babies born at Baptist Health facilities on the First Coast during Players Championship week will get a onsie that pays homage to Tiger Woods’ putt in the 2001 tournament.

Woods went on to win the first of his two Players titles and the phrase the Koch kept repeating as the ball rolled towards the hole is part of Players lore.

“This program is a fun tradition that connects The Players Championship with families across Northeast Florida,” said Lee Smith, Executive Director of The Championship. “It’s a special way to celebrate the newest members of our community during one of the most exciting weeks of the year.”
