Hannah Green began the final round at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore knotted with good friend and fellow Aussie Minjee Lee. An early birdie on the first hole, however, separated Green and set the early tone.
When Green looks back on her seventh career victory, she’ll no doubt think of the 5-wood she hit so pure on the par-5 eighth hole at Sentosa Golf Club’s Tanjong Course that it nearly went in the hole.

Green, 29, had 229 yards to the pin and 206 to carry the water, according to on-course reporter Sophie Walker. For a long time, it looked like Green’s ball might find the bottom of the cup before it veered just left of the cup, leaving her a short eagle putt.
Green now has three eagles on the season in two starts. She recorded only five all season last year.
Green becomes only the third player to win the HSBC multiple times, joining Inbee Park and Jin Young Ko. Despite a three-putt bogey on the last, Green had enough of a cushion to clip American Auston Kim by one stroke. Green has her husband Jarryd Felton, who also plays professional golf, on the bag to start the season as her regular caddie, David Buhai, can’t leave the U.S. while trying to get a green card. Buhai is married to LPGA major champion Ashleigh Buhai.
