Marseille owner Frank McCourt has confirmed he will be appointing a new club president in the near future, according to a report from RMC Sport. Speaking during a meeting with supporter group representatives, McCourt did not provide a timeline or candidate but described the move as the logical next step in stabilising the club’s governance.

While Pablo Longoria has been sidelined from sporting matters, McCourt explained that his continued presence remains strategically important. Longoria’s seat on the LFP board and within European institutions ensures OM retain representation at league level. The Spaniard is also reportedly unhappy with his new arrangement, and is considering departing the club altogether.

Medhi Benatia also reportedly suggested that his own future beyond the summer is uncertain, admitting he has stayed primarily to support McCourt and the club through a turbulent period.
