Ever since winning the Low Amateur Award at the Masters in 2024, former Ohio State golfer Neal Shipley has been steadily making a name for himself in the world of professional golf. Shortly after his recognition at Augusta National, Shipley would go on to make the cut at the 2024 U.S. Open played at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina.

After winning twice on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2025, Shipley was awarded his PGA card and will compete as a rookie on tour for the 2026 season. After competing and making the cut at the WM Phoenix Open this past weekend, Shipley joined Tomorrow’s Golf League, better known as TGL. What is TGL? According to ESPN, “TGL is a tech-infused, 3-on-3 golf league that features six teams composed of four PGA Tour golfers taking part in two-hour matches inside SoFi Center, TGL’s custom-built venue in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.”

In Shipley’s first action playing the high-tech simulator, the former Buckeye did something no one else has been able to do since TGL was founded in 2022. Shipley hit a perfect shot on a par three for the first-ever hole-in-one in TGL history. Take a look at the unprecedented shot courtesy of The Ohio State Athletics X (formerly Twitter) account.
