After news broke on Tuesday that several Saints assistants had chosen to stay in New Orleans rather than take the offensive coordinator job in Pittsburgh, it seems that the Steelers have found their guy.
Steelers Correspondent of The Pat McAfee Show Mark Kaboly reported on Tuesday night that the Steelers are close to agreeing on a deal to make the Minnesota Vikings’ passing game coordinator and tight ends coach Brian Angelichio their next offensive coordinator.
Angelichio has been with Minnesota since 2022 and has coached in the NFL since 2012. Similar to many of the hires McCarthy and the Steelers have made in building their staff, Angelichio is no stranger to working with the Steelers’ new head coach. From 2016 to 2018, Angelichio served as the tight ends coach for the Green Bay Packers with McCarthy.

Just yesterday, Kaboly reported that the Steelers would be interviewing Angelichio and that he was a serious contender for the job.
“The Steelers will now pivot to Minnesota passing game coordinator/tight ends coach and Vikings’ head coach Kevin O’Connell’s right-hand man, Brian Angelichio, for an interview at some point over the next few days, according to sources.”
While McCarthy will most likely call the plays, the soon-to-be former Vikings passing game coordinator will have a big hand in helping reshape the Steelers’ offense under Mike McCarthy.
