We might be knee-deep in golf’s silly season here in the U.S., with the Skins Game having just been played and the Hero, Grant Thornton and PNC on deck, but there’s a new DP World Tour season underway.
This week, it’s the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane, Australia.

The field included several notable names, with Min Woo Lee, Marco Penge, Marc Leishman, Cam Davis, Adam Scott, Ryan Fox, Abraham Ancer, Carlos Ortiz, Rafael Campos and even Geoff Ogilvy all making the cut.
David Puig holds the Joe Kirkwood Cup after winning the 2025 Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland Golf Club.
The tournament also featured David PuigĀ of LIV Golf, who became the second Spanish golfer to win BMW Australian PGA Championship. Puig is also the second former Arizona State golfer to win a recent international event, as Josele Ballester claimed the Saudi International just eight days ago. Puig is the first winner on the DP World Tour’s 2026 schedule.
Puig fired a final-round 66 and finished 18 under, two shots ahead of another former ASU golfer, Wenyi Ding. Leishman tied Nick Voke for third.

“It feels unbelievable, especially winning here in Australia,” Puig said. “They have awesome golf so I’m really excited and happy. I was definitely nervous, but I think I kind of kept my composure really well. Obviously that start helped a lot.”
There’s another event on the DP World Tour in Australia this coming week and a pair of tournaments in South Africa on deck.
