One name the staff has identified as a potential target is LSU offensive coordinator Joe Sloan. Sloan took over for Mike Denbrock this season and he’s kept LSU’s offense humming despite losing Heisman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels and star receiver Malik Nabers. The Tigers, who are squarely in the College Football Playoff conversation entering Week 9, rank in the top five in the SEC in passing offense, total offense and scoring offense this season.
Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has thrived under Sloan’s watch as the junior has completed 64.7% of his passes for 2,222 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions this season.
