San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk left Sunday’s game with a knee injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
Aiyuk visited the medical tent before eventually being carted off the field during the first half of the team’s Week 7 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Prior to exiting, Aiyuk had made two catches for 23 yards.
While being carted off, Aiyuk pointed to his right knee when communicating with San Francisco’s medical staff.
Aiyuk has 23 catches for 351 yards thus far in 2024 and is a key piece of the 49ers offense. Losing him would be a major blow for a team that currently sits at 3-3 and hopes to return to the Super Bowl.
The 49ers trailed 14-3 when Aiyuk exited and would tack on a field goal prior to the end of the opening half. With Aiyuk out, San Francisco will look for Deebo Samuel, Ricky Pearsall, Chris Conley and Ronnie Bell to pick up the slack.
However, Samuel is questionable with an illness.
