Ryan Blaney on locking into NASCAR playoffs, all Penske drivers with wins in 2025
Ryan Blaney describes the benefits of all three Team Penske drivers being locked into the NASCAR playoffs with wins in the 2025 Cup season.
- Ryan Blaney crashed out of the first stage of the NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
- Blaney’s No. 12 car blew a tire and hit the wall, ending his race early.
- The crash occurred while he was attempting to pass Ty Gibbs for 11th place.
Ryan Blaney, the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion, was knocked out of the first race in the Round of 8 in Stage 1 at the NASCAR Las Vegas race on Oct. 12.
Blaney blew a tire and hit the wall hard in his No. 12 Team Penkse Ford, which ended his day on Lap 62 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Blaney said on his radio that he had no steering when he wrecked. Blaney was trying to secure 11th place from Ty Gibbs at the time of the crash.
Blaney came into the race ranked second in the point standings and just two points behind the leader Denny Hamlin. Blaney finished 13th on Oct. 5 at the Charlotte Roval.
He had a playoff win at New Hampshire on Sept. 21 and two wins in the regular season after a slow start in the first half of the year.
It marks the second straight year Blaney has struggled at Vegas. He crashed there in practice in 2024 and had to use a backup car in the race. He was involved in a multi-car crash and finished 32nd.
William Byron went on to win the first stage of the race.
