SMU junior quarterback Kevin Jennings elicited gasps from the crowd Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas when he completed a behind-the-back pass.

With less than seven minutes remaining in the first quarter of the Mustangs’ home game against Stanford, Jennings pulled off some trickery by tossing the ball behind his back off a play fake and completing it to tight end RJ Maryland for a gain of about nine yards:

While it wasn’t a huge gainer, Jennings succeeded in faking out the defense and wowing Mustangs fans.

SMU went on to take a 7-0 lead on that same drive when Jennings hit Derrick McFall for a 19-yard touchdown.
