Tim Tszyu looks to become a two-time super welterweight champion when he challenges Bakhram Murtazaliev for the IBF title in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, October 19 (Oct. 20 in Australia).
Murtazaliev (22-0) is aiming to make the first defence of the belt he won when he stopped Jack Culcay earlier this year, while Tszyu is hoping to bounce back from his first loss as a professional – a bloody split-decision defeat to Sebastian Fundora in March.
A win for either man will catapult them into the frame for big fights against the likes of Fundora, Errol Spence and Terence Crawford.

8:37 p.m. ET | 11:37 a.m. AEDT: An excellent fight through seven rounds, with both men enjoying periods of success. Saavedra is pressing the action but the threat of Tapia’s right hand remains. Replays appear to show Tapia’s eye injury came as a result of a head clash in the second. It’s now heavily swollen.
8:29 p.m. ET | 11:29 a.m. AEDT: Monstrous right thunders into Saavedra’s head and puts him down in the final seconds of round five! Tapia’s left eye is beat up but he’s clearly still dangerous.
8:20 p.m. ET | 11:20 a.m. AEDT: Huge knockdown for Saavedra in round three! Tapia goes down for the first time in his career and a second one shortly after as Saavedra pours on the pressure. The bell rings to end an eventful round and Tapia will need something big to recover from this. A short right hook through the guard did the majority of the damage before some body shots put him down a second time.
8:15 p.m. ET | 11:15 a.m. AEDT: Two rounds in the books in an intriguing middleweight match up and, on the evidence so far, we should be in for an exciting fight with both guys putting plenty into their shots.
