Bill Belichick’s UNC Tar Heels were smoked at home on Saturday, losing 38-10 against Clemson in a result that moved them to 2-3 on the season and 0-3 against Power 5 opponents.

After the game, Belichick was asked if he had a message for fans and boosters who were understandably losing the faith.

“We’re gonna keep working and keep grinding,” he told reporters. “We’re gonna get on the right track here.”

“Main thing is keep doing what we’re doing and do it better,” he added. “We’re doing a lot of things. We’re just not doing it well.”

Chapel Bill has had very little success against the Power 5 schools North Carolina has faced thus far, getting cooked by a 120-33 margin against TCU, UCF and Clemson. Those don’t exactly look like the sort of results you’d expect from the NFL’s “33rd team,” as UNC general manager Michael Lombardi dubbed the program back in February.

So it’s back to work for North Carolina heading into a bye week, as the Tar Heels figure out how to not only do a lot of things, but also do them well.
