The Seattle Mariners were joined by a franchise legend as the team prepared for its upcoming 2025 American League Division Series appearance.

Ichiro Suzuki returned to play right field for the Mariners during their intra-squad scrimmage at T-Mobile Park on Wednesday.

Ichiro didn’t take any at-bats, per MLB.com’s Daniel Kramer.

Still, the 10-time All-Star took the field in full uniform and imitated Mariners center fielder Julio Rodríguez’s catch celebration.

Ichiro spent the majority of his MLB career on the Mariners, appearing in 1,861 total games with the team in two separate stints from 2001-12 and 2018-19.

He ranks No. 1 on Seattle’s all-time hits list as well as its stolen bases leaderboard.

Ichiro was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in July as part of the Class of 2025 and had his number retired by the Mariners on Aug. 9.

Seattle is looking to build upon a strong 2025 regular-season performance, finishing with a 90-72 record and winning the AL West crown for the first time since 2001.

The Mariners currently await the winner of the AL Wild Card matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers in the ALDS.
