One forgotten Liverpool star is teasing a return to action. It appears to be just days away.
Arne Slot has a very different squad this season. The Reds spent an incredible amount of money reshaping it, bringing in some genuine superstars.

Alexander Isak is the headline arrival as the most expensive transfer in British history. He signed from Newcastle for around £120m as Liverpool’s new record arrival.

He broke the record set by Florian Wirtz just a few months prior. The Reds hadn’t signed any player for £100m ahead of the summer – now they’ve got two.
And that’s not even all. Liverpool signed new full-backs on either side and brought in Hugo Ekitike for a lot of money from Eintracht Frankfurt.
But even those signings aren’t the only additions to the squad. Liverpool have a returning star who’s close to seeing action once again.

Stefan Bajcetic to return
Liverpool made the surprise decision to hang onto Stefan Bajcetic this season. Everyone expected the midfielder to disappear on loan after he really put things together with Las Palmas in 2025.
But Bajcetic is still at Liverpool and a part of the squad. He’s essentially taken Tyler Morton’s role as the backup midfielder who fills a homegrown place.
Now, that role wasn’t particularly good to Morton. He barely featured across the campaign before joining Lyon this summer.
Bajcetic, though, is a bit more versatile than Morton. It may mean he slots into teams a little easier, particularly in heavily rotated cup selections.
And that’s something we could see soon. Bajcetic has teased his return on Instagram, posting a story of him in his training gear with the caption ‘counting the days’.
It certainly sounds as though he’s now just days from making a proper return. Maybe an appearance against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup is on the cards?
