Everyone in and around the NFL has a lot to say about A.J. Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles, including two people who know the club well in very different ways.

On the latest episode of the New Heights podcast (starts at 29:45 mark), the Kelce brothers offered their assessment of where the Eagles offense is at through four games and A.J. Brown’s recent social-media activity.

“They’re gonna get some heat, though, because they won the Super Bowl,” said Travis Kelce. “Their stars aren’t having the 100-yard, touchdown games that they would hope their contracts would emulate. It’s silly. 4-0, are you kidding me? What are we talking about?”

Eagles legend Jason Kelce chimed in with this assessment: “I get that the expectations are higher. And listen, they need to fix things on offense. There’s no question about that, but I don’t think we should lose sight of the fact that we have a f–king great team in Philadelphia that is 4-0, has beaten some really good teams, right? And we should be very happy with that. And we have to at least understand—yes, they need get better on offense—but the bottom line is we have a really good team in Philadelphia. We should be happy and fired up to watch these guys every single week. I know I am.”

The big story from the Eagles’ 31-25 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday was the aftermath with Brown posting a quote with this Bible verse on X: “If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.”

Brown’s post came after he caught just two passes for seven yards on nine targets against the Bucs.

“You’re 4-0, boss,” Travis said about the post. “Come on, man.”

Jason did come to Brown’s defense, noting that a player of his caliber “should be upset that he is not being utilized in this offense. …. He should feel comfortable explicitly saying that to the coaches and players within that locker room.”

One thing that Jason Kelce pointed out is everyone with the Eagles should take to hear that Brown posted the quote that he did because it means he’s “not doing” what it says by quietly withdrawing.

Brown has been the most-targeted Eagles wide receiver this season (28), but the quality of those targets is leaving a lot to be desired. Sunday, in particular, felt like they were forcing the issue and he was primarily targeted on short, in-breaking routes.

The two times that Jalen Hurts targeted Brown deep down the field were both thrown out of bounds.

Both Kelces did note that the solution isn’t as simple as “just throw the ball to A.J. Brown more” because “that’s not how” it works in the NFL.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has dismissed any concerns behind the scenes with Brown, but it is a situation that everyone will be paying close attention to if his targets—both the quality and volume—stay at their current levels going forward.

Of course, the Eagles continuing to win games makes it easier for everyone to preach patience that the offense will figure things out because they don’t need to panic about the season slipping away.
