📹 Fluminense held to a draw by Lanús, out of the Copa Sul-Americana

At the Maracanã, Fluminense drew 1 x 1 with Lanús (aggregate 1 x 2), this Tuesday (23), and bid farewell to the Conmebol South American 2025 in the quarterfinals.

The game was completely dominated by the Tricolor from the start.

After accumulating good chances, Fluminense opened the scoring with a beautiful goal from Canobbio, taking a volley in the small area.

The Cariocas also had a ball hit the post with Samuel Xavier in the first half.

In the end, after a miracle from goalkeeper Losada and Freytes missing a goal under the crossbar, Lanús managed to draw.

In a counter-attack that had every kind of possible defensive error, Aquino combined with Marcelino Moreno and secured the Argentine qualification for the semifinals.

With the elimination in the South American tournament, Fluminense still competes in the Brasileirão, where they are in eighth place, and the Copa do Brasil, where they are in the semifinals with Vasco.

Lanús, on the other hand, awaits the winner of Alianza Lima and Universidad de Chile.

And Atlético-MG is the last Brazilian team with a chance to win the South American 2025. After drawing 2 x 2 with Bolívar, Galo will try to secure a place in the semifinals this Wednesday (24), at Arena MRV.

The Carioca Tricolor returns to the field on Sunday (28), when they play the classic against Botafogo, at Maracanã, for the 25th round of the Brasileirão.
