Ibrahima Konaté is entering the final year of his Liverpool contract, and with no extension in place, his future at Anfield remains uncertain.

According to reports, PSG and Real Madrid are closely watching the situation and could make a move if contract talks stall ahead of the January transfer window. The uncertainty surrounding Konaté comes at a pivotal moment for Liverpool, adding extra pressure as the club looks to maintain stability during a challenging season.

MARCA reports that Liverpool views Ibrahima Konaté’s move to Real Madrid as a done deal, seeing it as a situation similar to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s transfer last year.

Liverpool may be bracing for life without the French defender as the winter transfer window approaches. The club is monitoring Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi as a potential long-term replacement for Konaté, who could depart on a free transfer at the season’s end.

“Yeah, a lot will depend on what happens with Konaté and whether he signs a new contract or will he explore his options as free agent and run down his contract at Anfield,” Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider.

“It still seems to me that Marc Guehi, would be the favourite to come into Anfield as a new defender, probably on a free transfer next summer rather than January unless Palace really do drop the asking price on the England international.”
