Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, was arrested Thursday in Los Angeles after assaulting an independent professional wrestler last month.

According to TMZ Sports, Jackson was charged with felony battery with serious bodily injury before being released from jail on $50,000 bond.

On Aug. 23, the 25-year-old Jackson made an appearance at an independent wrestling show promoted by KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy. What was supposed to be an in-ring angle turned into a serious situation when Jackson pummeled wrestler Stuart Smith, who goes by the ring name Syko Stu, with numerous punches before getting pulled off by other wrestlers.

Following the show, KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy said in a statement that “a planned and agreed upon wrestling spot, turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence.”

Per TMZ, Jackson and Smith had a run-in early on the day of the show before Jackson decided to go off script in the ring.

Smith was hospitalized and treated for multiple injuries, including a fractured maxilla bone in his upper jaw, before getting released, according to TMZ.

Jackson’s father said during a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show that he feels Raja should “do a little time” and “do a little community service and go to anger management classes.”

The elder Jackson, 47, was a pro MMA fighter from 1999 to 2019, including a stint with UFC from 2007 to 2013, before returning for a final UFC fight in 2015. He was a one-time UFC light heavyweight champion as well.

Raja Jackson has also dabbled in the MMA world, posting a professional record of 1-1, with his most recent fight being a unanimous-decision loss to Steve Collins in August 2023.
