This Wednesday, the resolution in favor of Pumas from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS, in the Dani Alves case, was announced.
The CAS confirmed that the Brazilian player will have to comply with a financial sanction to compensate for the “damages and prejudices” caused to the golden-blue team.
“The CAS ruled in favor of the Club, revoking the decision of May 15, 2024 issued by the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber and issuing a new decision in which, apart from confirming the validity of the contractual termination with just cause exercised by the Club, it condemned Mr. Alves to pay a sum greater than that established by FIFA, as compensation for the damages and prejudices caused to this institution”, the National University Club reported through a statement.
It should be remembered that in 2023, Pumas terminated Alves’ contract, after the Brazilian faced problems with the Spanish justice for sexual abuse.
