Éric-Junior Dina Ebimbe joined Stade Brestois on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt in the final days of the transfer window, however, the former France youth international’s career trajectory could have looked quite different, as he revealed in an exclusive interview with Get French Football News.

Dina Ebimbe was the subject of interest from AS Monaco during the January transfer window. The Principality club were keen to add a midfielder to the squad. A deal was almost completed, however, it broke down at the medical phase. Dina Ebimbe has clarified what happened.

Monaco didn’t come off because I suffered a blow at Frankfurt. To clarify things, I had a bruise; It wasn’t a physical problem. I’ve never had a physical problem in my life, and I take good care of my body,” began the Paris Saint-Germain academy product. “

I’m very often fit, but sometimes you take a hit. There was negligence, and I continued to train with the bruise, and it worsened. Monaco told me that they needed a player fit straight away, and that wasn’t my case. I understand their decision; it is logical. They needed a player able to play quickly, and I was out for maybe three or four weeks, so they preferred to go after other players,” he added.

Instead, Monaco ultimately signed Moatasem Al-Musrati from Besiktas on loan. Les Monégasques opted against making the move permanent in the summer and instead signed Paul Pogba on a free transfer.
