Olascuaga (9-1) earned a shot at gold in his sixth pro fight, losing against Kenshiro Teraji for light flyweight gold. The 26-year-old has since won four straight, beating Riku Kano in 2024 for the WBO title.
It’s the first fight in the U.S. for the California native since 2022. As the appetizer before Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford, “Princesa” looks to entertain and retain his title. Olascuaga’s growth since the Teraji loss has been something to marvel at.
“I won more than I lost in the Teraji fight because I made my name known,” Olascuaga said in 2024 via BoxingScene. “My promoter has since had more confidence in me, and I made a lot of fans.
“I thought I was already at a champion level, but losing to Teraji helped me want to get better. Teraji proved to me otherwise to have my tools ready.”
Camacho (19-1) hasn’t lost a fight since 2017. A NABF super flyweight champion, Camacho has eight wins via knockout. He’s ranked first in the WBO rankings, and the Puerto Rican is ready to make a statement on fight night.
