According to an update shared by SPORT, Dani Olmo has set himself a personal challenge for the 2025/26 season at Barcelona.

The Spanish midfielder wants to hit 20 goals across all competitions, a figure that would mark the best scoring return of his career so far.

Olmo’s start to the season has been steady but not without setbacks. He remains an important part of Hansi Flick’s plans, though he is not yet a guaranteed starter.

Minor muscle issues have limited his game time in the opening weeks, with the 27-year-old splitting minutes with Fermin Lopez.

In his first two league appearances, Olmo only managed short spells on the pitch before getting a longer run-out against Rayo Vallecano.

Both at Dinamo Zagreb and RB Leipzig, he managed to raise his level after the initial adjustment period. Barcelona will be hoping history repeats itself this season.

Last season, Olmo finished with 12 goals and 7 assists – strong numbers, but still short of what he feels he can produce.

By pushing for 20 goals, he is not only aiming for personal growth but also looking to add more firepower to Barcelona’s midfield.

At 27, Olmo is entering what many call the “prime years” of a footballer’s career. This stage brings the perfect balance between experience and physical ability.

Flick has a close relationship with the midfielder and is confident he can put his injury problems behind him, much like Pedri has done recently.

If the squad finds its flow and Olmo stays fit, this season could finally show the Barcelona version of him that fans have been waiting for.
