Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel seemingly was more irritated about a pregame leak than he was about anything from his team’s 42-10 preseason loss to the Giants on Thursday.

No, Vrabel wasn’t happy with how New England’s backups performed against New York’s second- and third-stringers. He wasn’t excited the defense allowed 6.6 yards per play nor that Ben Wooldridge’s offense compiled a mere 81 yards through the air.

But Vrabel might’ve been most frustrated about the Ja’Lynn Polk pregame report than anything that occurred at MetLife Stadium. For reference, FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reported the Patriots second-year wide receiver is set to miss the 2025 campaign due to shoulder surgery.

“No,” Vrabel responded when asked if he had anything to add to the report. “Other than I’d like to find out where some of these (reports) come from. Some of these rats around here. So, we’ll figure that out.”

Players who have spent time with Vrabel in the past have spoken about his “media rules,” which include not speaking for someone else, not speaking about injuries and not speaking about scheme. Whoever have spoken about Polk’s season-ending surgery, whether it was the 2024 second-round pick himself or somebody else, must not have received the memo.

Unfortunately for them, now Vrabel might be the one to give it to them.
