MASON, OH − The Kroger Queen City Championship Presented by P&G will return to TPC River’s Bend in Maineville for a second consecutive year from Sept. 8-14.

Last summer, with the tournament’s future in question, the LPGA announced a two-year extension for the event through 2026.

The tournament was held at Kenwood Country Club in Madeira for two years (2022-2023) before making its debut at TPC River’s Bend in 2024.

Who will play in the Kroger Queen City Championship?

There will be 144 players competing for a $2 million purse at the Kroger Queen City Championship.

The full field for this year’s event has yet to be announced, though it will include seven of the top 10 and four of the top 5 on the LPGA leaderboard, including former champions Minjee Lee and Lydia Ko, the tournament announced on media day Aug. 18.

“It’s a really exciting time for our players heading into the tour championship at the end of the year. They are kind of jockeying for position,” LPGA Vice President of Tournament Business Affairs Casey Ceman said. “It’s gonna be really exciting.”

Last year, with the help of 700 volunteers, the tournament welcomed in 50,000 fans and had an economic impact of over $50 million to the Greater Cincinnati region, Proctor & Gamble Head of U.S. Grocery Sales Kristian Gatewood said Aug. 18. Gatewood added that 25 brands will be on-hand during the tournament.

“This is exactly what we look for, this community engagement” Ceman said of the Kroger Queen City Championship drawing 50,000 fans in 2024. “Kroger and P&G have leaned in with their brands, getting them our here and activating throughout the week. Just making it a really cool place for people to come.”

What to know about TPC River’s Bend in Maineville

TPC River’s Bend has previously hosted the Champions Tour and several other major events when the LPGA entered the fold in 2024.

The Arnold Palmer-designed course is a good fit from a length standpoint at 6,700 yards and is also advantageous for spectators with an elevated view at a number of holes from the clubhouse.

Vidhi Lakhawala, a high school senior from New Jersey and a Wake Forest University commit, received a sponsor’s exemption to the Kroger Queen City Championship after winning the Women’s Western Junior at Maketewah Country Club in June.

The 17-year-old arrived in Cincinnati Aug. 17 and played her first practice round at TPC River’s Bend.

“There are a lot of holes where you can be really aggressive and a lot of holes where you have to play a little more conservative,” Lakhawala said. “Just a lot of good golf and a lot of low scores, as well.”
