Nottingham Forest have bolstered their attacking ranks with the acquisition of promising French striker Arnaud Kalimuendo on a long-term deal.
The 23-year-old joins from Rennes in a significant transfer move, having completed his medical and finalised the contract formalities in a £26m deal. Kalimuendo arrives at the City Ground amid a flurry of recent activity in Forest’s summer recruitment drive, which has seen several high-profile additions.
Kalimuendo, who began his career in Paris Saint-Germain’s youth system before making his mark at Rennes, has built a reputation as a deft, technically gifted forward. Known for his intelligent movement, clinical finishing, and composed link-up play, he is expected to be a key component in Forest’s offensive plans.
This signing comes at a pivotal moment for Forest, who are keen to improve on a strong 2024/25 season—a campaign that saw them finish seventh in the Premier League, reach the FA Cup semi-finals, and secure their first stretch in European competition for nearly three decades.
Manager Nuno EspÃrito Santo will be looking for Kalimuendo to provide more firepower up front as the club prepares for a demanding season ahead that includes both domestic and continental challenges.
