The PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs opening event packs a lot of punch late in Sunday's groupings at the FedEx St. Jude Championship's final round at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn.. World no. 1 Scottie Scheffler competes in the penultimate group with recent U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun. Scheffler won in his last start at The Open at Portrush, and he trails leader Tommy Fleetwood (14-under) by two shots, while Spaun stands another shot back at 11-under.
Englishmen Fleetwood and Justin Rose (13-under) compose Sunday's final pairing.
Fleetwood has won seven times on the DP World Tour, but has yet to win on the PGA Tour. Will Sunday's final round finally be his breakthrough moment? It would seem that a pairing with good friend Justin Rose would help put him in as good a headspace as one could ask under the heat of Sunday expectations.
Rose, the older brother figure in the friendship, took to X on Saturday to show a fun picture of both him and Fleetwood on vacation in Portugal last week. Rose jokes that their combined good form this week must have been from the Portuguese wine.
