Bubba Wallace is in the game — “NASCAR 25″ — that is. NASCAR 25, the first NASCAR console game developed by iRacing, is set for an Oct. 14 release.

The virtual version of Wallace might need to brace for impact when spotter Freddie Kraft is on the sticks. Kraft answered Wallace when responding to the question on social media of “Who’s the first driver you’re right hooking in NASCAR 25?”

Some of the more popular answers in the thread were Carson Hocevar, Austin Hill and Joey Logano — three drivers who have/had a reputation in their careers for taking their competitors out. But for Kraft, the answer was simple. Of course, in real life, Kraft would prefer that no driver right rear hook Wallace in a Cup Series race.

Kraft was obviously just having some fun here in what has been a fun season to this point for the No. 23 team. Wallace captured his first win of the season last month at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, clinching him a spot in the playoffs.

Bubba Wallace is hot at the right time

After a sixth-place finish in this past Sunday’s race at Iowa Speedway — his third consecutive top 10 — Wallace is up to 10th in the points standings. He is currently the No. 9 seed in the 16-driver postseason field with seven playoff points to his name.

Wallace had to battle for a solid finish at Iowa. At one point, Wallace fell two laps behind the field to P32. Somehow, despite damage to his car’s toe link, he managed to work his way all the way back to the lead lap and ultimately to a sixth-place finish.

“I was just relaxed the whole time, really,” Wallace said after the race. “And it’s interesting how things shake out. We had a up-and-down day, as you mentioned. Was ready to just debrief the whole car mid-race and just figure out what we need to do to wholesale it. Had our damage, had our issues and just really fought hard to get our All True Camry back in the top 10.”
