Golf Fans Praise Paige Spiranac For Therapy Announcement originally appeared on The Spun.

Before ushering in the weekend, Paige Spiranac opened up about her personal life.

Spiranac played golf at San Diego State prior to becoming a full-time social media influencer. She earned All-Mountain West honors twice and won a conference championship during her time there. Her success at the collegiate level led her to the developmental Cactus Tour. The Colorado native also competed in a LPGA Qualifying Tournament before calling it quits.

On Friday morning, Spiranac talked about her battle with golf course anxiety. She said her “toxic” relationship with the sport played a role in why she stopped competing at the professional level.

“So I have a really toxic love-hate relationship with the game of golf. And I have talked about this ad nauseam. It was one of the reasons why I stopped playing golf professionally,” Spiranac said. “I just could never get over the golf course anxiety. And I would just feel that my mind always won, and I was weak and I could just never overcome that feeling.

“There’s also something about the game of golf that makes you addicted to it but also makes you feel like the most worthless human being ever when you have a bad round. I’ve been working with a therapist on this. I love golf so much, but sometimes, I just can’t break through. It eats at me, and I know so many others can relate to this.”

Golfers around the world really appreciated this admission from Spiranac. After all, there are plenty of people who struggle with their composure on the course.

“Crushing it as usual,” one person said. “I have this problem as well.”

“Thanks for sharing. For me it is a pure shot, a long putt, and playing with friends,” another person wrote.

Other fans were more concerned with Spiranac’s appearance. They applauded her for going with a completely natural look.

“No makeup and she’s still [fire emoji],” one social media user wrote.

“You’re perfect the way you are! Keep having fun playing golf and keep providing entertaining content and just enjoy the ride,” a fan said.

“Natural beauty,” another fan replied.

It has become very clear that Spiranac is beloved in the golf community. That won’t change anytime soon.

If anything, golf fans might see more of Spiranac in the future. She recently said that she’d love to be an on-course reporter for the PGA Tour.

Even if Spiranac doesn’t land that job, we’d say she’s doing just fine for herself.
