Tim Tszyu has suffered his third professional defeat, going down to Sebastian Fundora who defended the belt he won from the Australian in a blood-stained thriller last year.
Tszyu’s corner waved off the contest before the eighth-round.
The 30-year-old was dropped in the first round and struggled to regain any momentum as the damage piled-up.
Now, Tszyu has hit a pivotal career crossroads with his plans for future match-ups knocked significantly off-course.

What’s next for Tim Tszyu?
Michael Zerafa
It’s finally time for this rivalry to be put to bed.
Originally booked to fight back in 2021, this is the local scrap that never happened due to a pull-out from Zerafa.
Since then, both camps have traded barbs back-and-forth and with Tszyu on a skid, this seems like the most realistic opportunity to book the fight again.
This would be a big occasion for Australian boxing and would put the winner in line for big match-ups down the road.
Keith Thurman
A clash with Keith Thurman would be an action fight between two generations of contenders looking to reassert themselves in the division.
For Tszyu, it’s the perfect rebound bout against a respected name who brings U.S. attention but doesn’t bring the height and awkwardness of Fundora.
There is also heat between the two with Tszyu calling him out on more than one occasion.
Thurman’s last bout was a victory over fellow Aussie Brock Jarvis in Sydney back in March of this year.
Retirement
Tszyu retiring now would be a shock, but not unjustified.
After two stoppages, he faces questions about his ceiling, health and long-term motivations.
He’s achieved plenty already, becoming a world champion, headlining multiple shows, and becoming an internationally recognised fighter.
Whilst there would still be questions about what might’ve been at middleweight, retiring now lets Tszyu walk away proud.
