The Eagles in 2024 ended up having a run-first offense and A.J. Brown played just 13 games in the regular season … and he still had a 1,000-yard season.

There’s no question that Brown is one of the best receivers in the NFL and he’s one of the most important Eagles again in 2025.

Brown, 28, missed three games with injury last season and the Eagles went 1-2 in those games. While there were a lot of reasons the Eagles turned things around coming off their Week 5 bye week, getting a healthy Brown back was definitely up there. In his first game back, Brown had 6 for 116 and a touchdown.

In his three seasons since joining the Eagles, Brown already has over 4,000 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. Brown has averaged 85.8 yards per game in his Eagles career, which is by far the highest average in Eagles history among players with at least 40 games. The next closest is DeSean Jackson at 68.5.

You can argue about Brown’s place among the best receivers in the NFL but ProFootballFocus has him atop the list going into 2025:

“Brown dominates defensive backs across the board, but his success against single coverage is especially notable. He earned the highest receiving grade versus single coverage in 2024 (96.6) and leads the league in that category over the past three seasons (2022–24) with a 97.0 grade. He can win in every way, against any defense.”

In his first two seasons, Brown put up the two biggest receiving seasons in franchise history with 1,496 yards in 2022 and 1,456 in 2023. He was a Pro Bowler in both seasons and was nearly as productive on a per-game basis in 2024 but missed a few games because of injury.

While Brown was quiet in the Eagles’ first two playoff games last year, he had 6 for 96 and a touchdown in the NFC Championship Game and 3 for 43 and a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

After winning it all, Brown made some headlines this offseason for his reaction to reaching the top of the mountain. Brown’s experienced even surprised himself.

“It did,” Brown said. “Because coming into the league, we were taught we’re playing for this reason. We’re playing for this trophy. And once we got the trophy, it was just like I thought everything would be fulfilled, like the hard work and everything.

“But no, it’s the journey. It’s the journey that matters the most and that means the most. Because those are the moments you look back at with your teammates that you’re spending time with and going to war, you’re suffering together and you’re winning together.”
