The main card for UFC Vegas 98 begins at 7 p.m. ET, with the prelims starting at 4 p.m. ET. Royval and Taira should make their way to the octagon around 10:30 p.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
Royval (16-7) is 4-1 in his last five fights. “Raw Dawg” lost against Alexandre Pantoja for the UFC flyweight title but beat former champion Brandon Moreno in February to be ranked first at flyweight.
Taira (16-0), ranked fifth, is 6-0 in the octagon. The 24-year-old from Japan has won two straight via TKO.
The co-main event will see Brad Tavares vs. Park Jun-yong. Tavares (20-9) competed on The Ultimate Fighter and will break the tie (24) with Michael Bisping for most bouts in the UFC’s middleweight division. Park (17-6) had a four-fight win streak end in December. The South Korean is 7-3 in the octagon.
Meanwhile, Grant Dawson, 2-1 in his last three fights, faces Rafa Garcia (15-3), on a two-fight win streak, while Alex Morono (24-10, 1 NC), 2-2 in his last four contests, faces Daniel Rodriguez (17-5), looking for his first win since 2022.
