New Burnley signing Loum Tchaouna says a “really good conversation” with manager Scott Parker convinced him to make the move from Italian giants Lazio.

The 21-year-old has signed a five-year deal at Turf Moor after competing in this summer’s under-21 European Championship for France.

A youth product of Rennes, Tchaouna made his senior debut as a 18-year-old in 2021 before a loan move to second tier Dijon a year later. In 2023 he joined Italian side Salernitana before a permanent move to Lazio in 2024.

He has already played 130 games across Serie A, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2.

“It’s a very proud day for me to sign for this special club,” Tchaouna said on the move.

“I spoke with the manager during the Euros this summer and we had a really good conversation, which made me realise I wanted to be here.

“I can’t wait to get ready for the upcoming season and to play in front of the supporters.”
