The UFC will finish off International Fight Week with a stacked UFC 317 card. The main event will see Ilia Topuria vs. Charles Oliveira for the vacant UFC lightweight title.

UFC 317 will be at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on June 28. The early prelims start at 6:30 p.m. ET, while the prelims are at 8 p.m. ET. The main card starts at 10 p.m. ET, and Topuria and Oliveira should make their way to the octagon around 12:30 a.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
The lightweight title is on the line after Islam Makhachev vacated the belt to move to welterweight. It was thought Topuria (16-0) would face Makhachev, but a win by both could result in a clash down the road.
Topuria vacated the UFC featherweight title to move to lightweight. At featherweight, he beat Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway via knockout. The Georgian and Spanish fighter has six wins via knockout and looks to be a two-division champion.
Training in a new weight class can be exhausting for some. Topuria believes he’s right where he should be.
“This is the happiest I ever have been in my training camps because of the weight cut,” Topuria said via MMA Junkie. “I have been able to enjoy the whole process, and I feel ready. I feel ready, man. You guys are not even expecting what you’re going to see on June 28.”
Oliveira (35-10, 1 NC) competes in his third fight for lightweight gold. The Brazilian won the title, was stripped of it after not making weight for a defense, and failed to recapture gold against Makhachev.
The 35-year-old is 2-2 in his last four fights. Holding numerous record for the UFC, Oliveira only cares about what happens in the cage, not what Topuria says out of it.
“I don’t like to talk about it because everything we say becomes noise, but I think we’re past that already, right?” Oliveira told MMA Fighting. “It’s 15 years in the UFC. I was just a kid when I first went in there. Everything I say has a meaning, right? ‘I’m just a kid among the lions, and now I feel a lion among the lions. A different lion, a bad lion.'”
