Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Anderlecht are weighing up a move for former Genk winger Benjamin Nygren. The 23-year-old Swedish international is set to be out of contract at Danish side Nordsjaelland at the end of December 2025. According to Tavolieri, Nygren is open to a return to the Pro League. The winger had moved to Belgium back in the summer of 2019, when Genk had signed Nygren from IFK Göteborg for around €3.70m.

Nygren had left the Swedish side after making just 15 appearances, with six goals and five assists. He struggled to break into the side at Genk, with only seven appearances during his time in Belgium. For the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 seasons he was loaned to Dutch side SC Heerenveen. He made 51 appearances for the side, with seven goals and six assists. During the 2021/2022 season he moved to Denmark, where he has enjoyed a lot of success. This past season the winger scored 16 goals across all competitions, giving him 35 in total for the side over 107 games. With more years and football under his belt, a return to Belgium with Anderlecht could be a chance to prove that he is good enough to play at the level and just needed more time.
