Meet NASCAR’s New Danica Patrick (1:28)

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is part of the broadcasting team for one of Fox Sports’ rivals, though he’s still making it clear how much appreciation he has for the network.

The legendary NASCAR Cup Series driver, who used to broadcast races for NBC, left the network for Amazon Prime and TNT. Amazon Prime and TNT Sports will begin covering NASCAR races this weekend. Dale Jr. will be part of the broadcast for Amazon Prime at the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday night.

But Dale Jr. still has ties to Fox Sports.

The son of the legendary NASCAR driver had his CARS Tour broadcasted on Fox Sports over the weekend. Dale Jr.’s CARS Tour, a stock car auto racing circuit in the United States had a fun weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina.

The CARS Tour averaged 253,000 viewers for Friday night’s race on Fox Sports 1. It was the series’ first ever live event on the cable TV channel, with a peak of 365,000 viewers, according to Adam Stern of the Sports Business Journal.

While Dale Jr. works for a competitor in Amazon Prime and TNT Sports, he showed his true character, paying respect to Fox Sports for their work.

Dale Jr. gave a “huge thanks” to Fox Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday afternoon.

“Appreciate the opportunity. A huge thanks to @NASCARONFOX @FloRacing and @NASCAR . Doesn’t happen without @KevinHarvick being an ambitious series owner. Great exposure for our teams and series. Next event is May 31st on @FloRacing at @LangleySpeedway,” he wrote.

It’s cool to see that Dale Jr. has some appreciation for Fox Sports, even while working for a competitor in Amazon Prime and TNT Sports.

Dale Jr. understands that he needs Fox Sports for his CARS Tour to have success moving forward.
