Scottie Scheffler is now a three-time major winner after coming out on top of the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte.

Before raising the Wanamaker Trophy on Sunday, the 28-year-old Scheffler sent a strong message to the rest of the field in the third round, grabbing the top spot on the leaderboard by putting together an impressive performance down the stretch.

An eagle on the 14th hole of that round set the table for Scheffler’s takeover, as he had three birdies in the final four holes. On the 18th, he birdied on a par-4 before letting out an expletive-laced celebration.

“[Expletive] yeah, baby,” the world’s No. 1 golfer was heard saying, per ESPN.

“I typically don’t show much emotion,” Scheffler explained his action afterward. “I don’t know how much I showed there. I don’t really think about what I’m doing,” Scheffler added.

“Wherever the emotion came from, felt like an important part of the round to finish off the round the right way.”

Scheffler wasn’t as dominant in the fourth round, as he recorded four bogeys, but he did more than just enough to stave off the other challengers for the crown. Overall, Scheffler went 11-under through four rounds, five shots better than runner-ups Harris English, Bryson DeChambeau and Davis Riley.

With two Masters Tournament victories and a PGA Championship title, Scheffler needs to win the US Open and The Open Championship to complete a career grand slam.

So far in the 2025 PGA Tour season, the former Texas Longhorns golfer has two wins with seven top 10s and 10 top 25s in 10 starts.
