The checkered flag is out for the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Texas Motor Speedway with a double overtime finish.

Kyle Larson won the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 on May 3 at Texas. Larson drove the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet for Connor Zilisch, who missed the race with a lower back injury in the Talladega race. Zilisch was granted a waiver from NASCAR to remain eligible for the playoffs.

Larson passed Sam Mayer on the outside of turn 1 on a restart in double overtime after Jeremy Clements spun exiting turn 2 in the first overtime. Larson drove away from the field when he took the lead.

Larson led 32 laps to score his second NASCAR Xfinity Series win of the season, he won the Bristol race on April 12. The win at Texas is the 17th of Kyle Larson’s NASCAR Xfinity Series career in 119 starts.

Justin Allgaier dominated and won the first stage of the race. Austin Hill won the second stage for his sixth stage win of the season. The race had 11 cautions for 61 laps and 12 lead changes. Allgaier ran the fastest lap of the race.

Allgaier led 99 laps but was involved in a crash on lap 156 when he collided with Kris Wright, who was multiple laps down and was off the pace and took Allgaier out of the running with less than 50 laps to go.
