PGA Tour holds Zurich Classic team event. Which area players are in it?

Rory McIlroy returns and the LPGA will play the first of its five major championships. 

Those are the highlights of professional golf tours this week, which are all in action beginning on April 24. 

McIlroy and Shane Lowry are the defending champions in the Zurich Classic, at the TPC Louisiana. It’s McIlroy’s first start since he won the Masters to complete the career Grand Slam. 

The Zurich field also has one of the biggest area contingents in the field this season. A dozen players from the First Coast and 10 from Georgia’s Golden Isles are playing, with past champion Billy Horschel and 2025 PGA Tour winner Karl Vilips among those at TPC Louisiana.

The LPGA is playing the Chevron Championship near Houston, LIV Golf is in Mexico City, the PGA Tour Champions is in the Atlanta area and the Korn Ferry Tour is near Dallas.
